CNA announces new fines for Romania TV and Realitatea Plus

The National Audiovisual Council (CNA) decided, in a meeting on Tuesday, to fine Realitatea Plus 2,500 lei because, on February 19, when the station's broadcast was suspended for three hours, the text of the sanction was not broadcast on social media channels, such as YouTube and TikTok.

Additionally, Romania TV was fined 20,000 lei for headlines considered misleading and alarmist broadcast on January 23.

The CNA took these measures based on reports from the Monitoring Directorate, following self-notifications and complaints received.

The suspension of Realitatea Plus's broadcast was the result of repeated violations of audiovisual legislation, recorded between November 1-21, 2025, before the electoral campaign for the Capital City Mayor.
