The CNA's decision is part of a package of amendments to the Broadcasting Regulation Code, explicitly banning the use of public figures in gambling advertising. It was challenged by various entities in the gambling industry, but all amendments were rejected. The new rules also extend the protection of minors online to streaming platforms. The updated code will come into force after official publication and the star ban will become mandatory in 90 days.
