The National Audiovisual Council (CNA) decided on Wednesday to issue a public warning to the company International Alexander Media SRL, which operates the on-demand audiovisual media service iAMsport, following controversial statements made by the host Radu Banciu. He stated, in the broadcast aired on July 13, that French football players with parents from other countries cannot be considered French. The CNA took notice after the case was presented by MEDIAFAX and analyzed the content of the program, finding a violation of the norms that prohibit racist and xenophobic manifestations.
The decision targets the show "iAM Banciu - July 13", in which Banciu argued that the origin of the parents excludes national identity. This is not the first incident at iAMsport, as the company has previously been involved in scandals related to false information, such as the accusation made against Diana Buzoianu by Florin Prunea. The incident was labeled by Buzoianu as part of a "parallel reality" and highlighted the issue of the spread of fake news.
