Over 30 organizations from civil society, including the Accept Association, have sent an open letter to the Party of European Socialists (PES), warning that PSD does not respect its commitments not to cooperate with the far right. These organizations emphasize that PSD has submitted a motion of censure in alliance with AUR, an extremist party that promotes a Moscow-aligned candidate for the position of prime minister.

The signatories urge PES to impose a zero-tolerance commitment towards cooperation with far-right parties and to advocate for the unblocking of human rights institutions in Romania. They also call for the voting of civil partnership proposals and the rejection of anti-LGBT legislation. The organizations believe that PES has a crucial responsibility in reaffirming democratic values and in strengthening national institutions, warning that inaction will have inevitable political consequences for PSD.
