Ciprian Ciucu, the mayor of the Capital and first vice-president of the PNL, reported a surprising conversation with Ion Ceban, the mayor of Chișinău, which took place in Singapore.
Ciucu claims that Ceban revealed to him that he knew about the nomination of the liberal Adrian Veștea as prime minister before President Nicușor Dan made the official announcement. The PNL leadership only learned about Veștea's proposal at the time of the announcement. This was a reaction to the first prime minister proposal, Eugen Tomac, who resigned.
Ceban allegedly showed Ciucu messages that confirmed the information about Veștea, which generated discontent among the liberals, who accuse a lack of consultation from the president. Ciucu emphasized that the top liberals were not informed of this decision, highlighting the surprise and disappointment of his colleagues.
