The general mayor of the Capital, Ciprian Ciucu, has invited graffiti artists to identify locations where they can create works of art, instead of being fined.

Ciucu, who organized a festival dedicated to graffiti art during his term at the Sector 6 City Hall, emphasizes that it is essential for the administration and artists to collaborate for a civilized urban environment. He highlighted the difference between art and vandalism, calling for an end to the vandalism of public and private buildings.

Deputy Mayor Stelian Bujduveanu stated that the PMB does not oppose street art, but a clarification of the difference between art and vandalism is necessary.

Ciucu has requested legislative changes to facilitate the cleaning of graffiti, in the context of a recently launched program by the Capital City Hall, which offers financial support to owners for cleaning affected facades.
