Marin Voicu, the mayor of Ciorani municipality in Prahova, has been sentenced to two years in prison for instigating fraud in the 2020 local elections. The court's decision is not final, and a total of 23 defendants were tried for falsifying electoral documents. The court quashed several minutes and handed down various sentences to the other defendants, including suspended sentences. The fraud consisted in falsifying voting results for various public offices.
