An 8-year-old child from Fetești died after being hit by a train in the Borcea Station area.

A man from Fetești alerted the police on July 9, 2026, around 10:00 AM that his 8-year-old son had voluntarily left home.

Immediately, the authorities began the search to find him. Shortly thereafter, a train mechanic traveling on the Bucharest-Constanța route reported that he had hit a minor in the Borcea Station area. After checks, it was confirmed that the missing boy was found deceased. The train mechanic was tested with a breathalyzer, and the result was negative.

The police continue the investigations to establish the exact circumstances of the tragedy, under the coordination of the competent prosecutor's office. This tragic event has left the community shocked and grieving.
