CFR has launched restaurant cars on the Bucharest-Arad route, offering travelers a nostalgic culinary experience, with dishes such as pork neck, breaded cheese, and fried potatoes. Mircea Manea, a chef with over 40 years of experience, prepares meals that remind of the communist era. A complete meal costs approximately 55 lei. Travelers appreciate this option, considering it superior to other international experiences.

Until the end of the year, CFR plans to expand the restaurant cars on long routes, with an investment of nearly 10 million lei from PNRR. The cars are equipped with kitchens and provide a pleasant environment for travelers, bringing a common element from European rail transport to Romania.
