Ceaușescu's villa, also known as the International Villa, will re-enter the heritage of Timiș County, after the County Council (CJ) decided to expropriate it from businessman Ovidiu Tender. This emblematic building was handed over to Tender through a detrimental association, which prevented the CJ from making investments or capitalizing on the villa. Alfred Simonis, the president of CJ Timiș, emphasized that this move corrects a past mistake and will transform the villa into a cultural-artistic hub. Additionally, CJ Timiș will dissolve SC Intercenter, the company through which the villa was managed, to prevent the leakage of funds from compensations. The villa, which is in ruins, has hosted prominent personalities and was seen as a potential five-star hotel, but the promised investments were not made. The restoration project will begin soon, with the aim of revitalizing this important building for the community.
