The Constitutional Court of Romania (CCR) has postponed again a decision regarding the constitutionality of the Magistrates' Pension Law.
What was the reason for the new postponement
The decision was made following a request to suspend the deliberations, to allow for a more detailed study of the issues related to the cause and the extrajudicial accounting expertise submitted by the High Court of Cassation and Justice on January 15, 2026.
CCR has set the new date for pronouncement to be February 11, 2026, invoking the relevant legal provisions.
All nine judges of the CCR came this morning to the institution's headquarters for the meeting regarding the magistrates' pensions, including the four who boycotted the last meetings, namely Gheorghe Stan, Bogdan Licu, Mihai Busuioc, and Cristian Deliorga, all four being supported by PSD.
The pronouncement on the objection of the ICCJ has been postponed three times until Friday, on December 10, 2025, on December 28, when the four judges mentioned above left the meeting, and December 29.
