Călin Georgescu, under judicial control, made new controversial statements on Tuesday, claiming that Romania "would have more millionaires than Switzerland." The leader of the sovereignist movement stated that his priority would be "revitalizing the economy through Romanian capital," accusing the current political class of lies and corruption. "Romanians are not poor, they are misled and robbed. In the past, Romanian wheat fed Europe, now we are eminently ridiculous," Georgescu stated, adding ironically that "intelligence was chasing the current rulers, but they were faster."
