In Bucharest, many citizens were shocked by the new taxes, some of which have increased dramatically compared to previous years. A man discovered that he had to pay 800,000 lei for a 70 sqm apartment, an obviously incorrect amount that caused a shock. Other cases include an increase from 200 lei to 68,000 lei for an apartment housing a company, while another citizen saw his tax rise from 1,000 lei to 20,000 lei. Many people went to the counters to request explanations, but it is unclear whether these amounts are errors or realities. Tension has risen, and an incident occurred at the Tax and Revenue Directorate in Sector 2. A man managed to clarify the error and found out that he actually only had to pay 500 lei. This situation has generated confusion and frustration among taxpayers, who fear exorbitant taxes.
