The municipality of Botoșani has launched an innovative project, testing for the first time nationally a laser projection system for pedestrian crossings. Mayor Cosmin Andrei emphasized that the purpose of this system is to enhance the visibility of pedestrian crossings at night and in unfavorable weather conditions.

The project aims to ensure the safety of citizens and road users by projecting a laser image of the zebras on the roadway, even when the markings are covered by snow. Tests are being conducted in three locations in the city, and depending on the effectiveness of the system, it could be expanded throughout the entire municipality. The project represents an important step in improving road safety in Botoșani.
