The border police from the Nădlac Border Police Sector conducted checks on the communication routes near the border, where they stopped a truck registered in Turkey, driven by a Turkish citizen.

This truck was transporting textile rolls on the Turkey – Poland route, according to the cargo documentation. Following a detailed inspection, carried out based on a risk profile, the police discovered 16 foreign citizens hidden in the cargo transport compartment. Subsequent checks revealed that the individuals were 15 citizens from Iraq and one citizen from Syria, all without documents allowing them to travel in the Schengen Area. They were taken to the border police sector headquarters for further investigations. The Border Police continues to monitor illegal human trafficking activities at Romania's borders.
