The six countries are South Africa, South Korea, Estonia, Israel, Latvia, Romania, and the United States, as part of a strategy to boost tourism. Foreign Minister Fernando Aramayo stated that this measure will help generate revenue, estimating that between 2026 and 2029, tourism could bring in at least 320 million dollars. Aramayo criticized previous visa enforcement measures, considering them ideological and anti-economic, which led to significant losses for the local economy. President Rodrigo Paz emphasized that the visa requirement caused losses of over 80 million dollars and affected the competitiveness of Bolivian tourism compared to Peru.

The Bolivian government is also working on eliminating Schengen visas for Bolivian citizens, highlighting the importance of restoring confidence in Bolivia as a safe tourist destination. Tourism Minister Cinthya Yanez highlighted the positive impact of visa elimination on tourism revenue, including in sectors such as gastronomy and hotels.
