At the public debate on Friday, January 16, organized by the Prime Minister's Chancellery at the Victoria Palace, representatives of the National Trade Union Bloc (BNS) emphasized the need for urgent and coherent regulations for the labor market regarding migrant workers. The trade unionists highlighted the importance of protecting their rights, preventing abuses, and combating exploitation through work. BNS has collaborated with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) to formulate proposals that address the reported issues, including informing migrant workers from their country of origin and holding placement agencies accountable.

The draft ordinance discussed includes essential measures, such as simplifying procedures for obtaining the necessary documents for working in Romania and applying the "employer pays" principle. BNS is committed to continuing social dialogue to ensure a fair legal framework for all workers in Romania.
