Meteorologists have issued a blizzard warning for mountainous areas located at altitudes over 1,800 meters, where the wind will reach gust speeds of over 120 km/h. This phenomenon will blizzard and drift the already deposited snow, reducing visibility to nearly zero. The warning is valid until Monday morning at 10:00 and affects the counties of Alba, Covasna, Brașov, Sibiu, Gorj, and Vâlcea.
In Alba, the affected localities include Cugir, Zlatna, Câmpeni, and others; in Covasna, the affected areas are Întorsura Buzăului and Sânzieni, while in Brașov localities such as Predeal and Bran are included. Sibiu County includes Săliște and Rășinari, and in Gorj, the mountain area of the locality Padeș is targeted. In Vâlcea, the warning applies to the localities Călimănești and Brezoi. In these areas, the wind will have gusts of 90-110 km/h, blizzarding the snow and reducing visibility to below 50 meters.
