Buzău County is facing the severe effects of the weather, being under alert for rain and storms. Floods have caused damage in the locality of Lopătari, where water, mud, and plant debris have affected the roads connecting the villages of Chirani, Vârteju, and Brebu to the center of the commune.
The mayor also reported the deterioration of the supporting wall of the cemetery in the locality, which is degrading due to precipitation. In Beceni, a bridge has been temporarily closed due to the collapse of the access ramp, and crossing is allowed only on foot.
Agricultural crops in the area between Smeeni and Brădeanu have been flooded, and the damages will be assessed after the rains cease. Authorities have issued an orange alert for torrential downpours, hail, and wind intensifications, affecting several localities in the county.
The National Meteorological Administration has also announced yellow alerts for strong storms, valid until Friday evening.
