Alexeni Airport, 65 km east of Bucharest, will become a major cargo hub in Eastern Europe. The project, with an annual capacity of 6.5 million passengers and 10,000 tons of cargo, includes a 30,000 sq m passenger terminal and a 20,000 sq m cargo terminal. Construction will be carried out in collaboration with a Ukrainian company and accessibility will be ensured by a fast rail link to Bucharest. Avant Airports is seeking international funding for the project and will organize public consultations to adapt the terminals to the needs of users.
