The Bucharest Territorial Branch of the Order of Architects of Romania (OAR) has launched a call to candidates for the position of general mayor, emphasizing the need to finalize the General Urban Plan of the Capital.

Architects draw attention to the systemic architectural and urban crisis caused by delays in administrative authorization and approval procedures. They demand that, within 100 days of taking office, the new mayor presents a schedule for addressing the reported issues. Among the OAR's requirements are compliance with legal deadlines for issuing urban planning certificates and the introduction of a digital authorization system to reduce bureaucracy. Additionally, architects request the transparent organization of solution competitions for major investments and the creation of a multiannual program for the protection of built heritage. OAR emphasizes the importance of dialogue with professionals in the decision-making process of the City Hall.
