The Ploiești Court of Ploiești decided the conditional release of Elena Udrea, former Minister of Tourism, but this decision was challenged by DNA. Udrea recently underwent surgery for acute cholecystitis and has been incarcerated in Târgșor Penitentiary since June 2022, after extradition from Bulgaria. Sentenced to six years in prison in the 'Gala Bute' case, she is accused of coordinating a corruption scheme that generated €3 million in damages.
