The president of ANSVSA, Alexandru Bociu, stated that ensuring a rigorous traceability of animals is essential for reopening international markets and regaining the trust of the European Commission.
In this regard, the leadership of ANSVSA held a meeting with representatives of companies that provide identification means for animals, discussing advanced technologies that can ensure safer registration and monitoring of animal movements. At the beginning of next week, suppliers will present technical proposals for modernization, which will be evaluated by a committee of experts within ANSVSA.
This measure will be included in the action plan that will be sent to the European Commission. Additionally, ANSVSA emphasizes that illegal sheep transport represents a major problem affecting rule-abiding farmers, and an effective identification system will help protect them.
