The president of ANSVSA, Alexandru Bociu, announced the convening of the crisis cell to manage the situation generated by the blocking of sheep and goat exports to third countries, a decision considered disproportionate by the authorities.
Bociu emphasized that ANSVSA experts are collaborating with representatives of the European Commission to find solutions. On Thursday, meetings are scheduled with epidemiologists and the crisis cell, which will also be attended by Deputy Prime Minister Tánczos Barna. Bociu clarified that ANSVSA does not support mass vaccination of sheep populations, arguing that such a measure would negatively affect the exports of animal products.
In the first five months of the year, Romania obtained 500 million euros from sheep exports, and ANSVSA aims to overcome this crisis through unity and collaboration.
