The Minister of Finance, Alexandru Nazare, announced a significant change in ANAF's approach, highlighting a "zero tolerance" towards tax evasion and major debtors. Recent actions by tax inspectors have focused on fictitious transaction chains, illegal VAT refunds, and illegal exploitation of mineral aggregates.

Nazare emphasized the visible results of ANAF in combating tax evasion and improving the relationship with taxpayers, mentioning extensive controls in high-risk sectors. The value of investigated transactions exceeded 30 million lei, and the identified damages are significant. Additionally, ANAF has implemented measures to accelerate VAT refunds and launched the eLicitațiiANAF platform for the online sale of confiscated goods. These initiatives aim to increase revenues to the state budget and keep the deficit under control, restoring taxpayers' confidence in the tax administration.
