Adrian Nica, the head of ANAF, stated that the institution has identified approximately 12,000 taxpayers with a very high risk profile, in the context where the debts to the state budget of companies that no longer have bank accounts amount to 2.3 billion lei.
Nica emphasized the need to distinguish between honest taxpayers and those who choose the fraudulent path, mentioning that some companies are created specifically to commit fraud. ANAF is working on digitizing processes to improve taxpayer knowledge and identify the real beneficiaries of the money. Additionally, Nica highlighted the challenges encountered in the process of verifying taxpayers, mentioning that some companies have indicators of pre-insolvency. The launch event of IFA Romania took place in the presence of experts in the fiscal field, aiming to create a dialogue platform between authorities and the business environment.
