The Romanian State, through the Regional General Directorate of Public Finances Brașov, has contested the decision of the Sibiu Tribunal which rejected the request for precautionary seizure on the assets of former president Klaus Iohannis's family. The appeal has been registered and will be forwarded to the Alba Court of Appeal. Additionally, ANAF has initiated an action requesting compensation from Iohannis for the lack of use of a 1/2 share of a property in Sibiu, considering his refusal to pay the amounts owed.

ANAF has taken over half of the respective property, and representatives of the institution have stated that they will take all necessary legal measures to protect the interests of the Romanian State. Furthermore, there has been correspondence between ANAF and the Iohannis family regarding the handover of the property, but no progress has been recorded regarding the payment of debts.
