During a meeting with students from the Faculty of Sociology, Ana Blandiana discussed communist manipulation and the importance of freedom of thought. She stressed that in order to understand the present, young people need to know history, referring to the communist era and its effects on Romanian society. Blandiana emphasized the power of words in combating totalitarian ideologies and stressed that freedom is not a given, but a continuous process that requires education and critical thinking. The movie "Between Silence and Sin", which was the opening screening of the discussion, explores the poet's life and her role in the struggle for democracy.
