Diana Buzoianu, the Minister of the Environment, stated that nearly 4,000 constructions, including hotels and beach bars, are suspected of being illegal, as they are located between the seashore and the promenade, areas that should be state-owned. The Romanian Waters will request legal studies to establish the coastal line and use this information as evidence in court.

Buzoianu mentioned that the solutions for the removal of the constructions will be analyzed individually, and the process will take years. She also explained how state lands have been illegally transferred to private ownership through decisions of local authorities, which facilitated their sale to private investors. The Ministry will prioritize cases that require rapid intervention.
