Adrian Țuțuianu, the president of the Permanent Electoral Authority (AEP), had a meeting with Simion-Dorin Rusu, the TikTok representative for Romania, Hungary, and the Balkan region, to discuss measures to strengthen the integrity of electoral processes and combat misinformation in the digital environment. The discussions focused on the collaboration between AEP and TikTok to identify and combat manipulative content, in accordance with European regulations.

There was also an analysis of the possibility of developing a code of conduct for political communication on digital platforms and more effective mechanisms for reporting illegal content. AEP reaffirms its commitment to maintaining institutional neutrality and ensuring equal treatment for all electoral competitors, continuing the dialogue with online platforms to protect the integrity of the electoral process.
