Adrian Mitroi, economist and university professor, stated that Romania is in a period of extremely difficult economic conditions, characterized by high inflation, large public debt, and recession risks. He emphasized that temporary measures, such as capping energy prices and changing fuel taxes, will not solve the fundamental problems of the economy. Mitroi warned that if energy prices remain high, the effects on the economy will be severe, including a possible global recession that would affect Romania.

The economist criticized the wrong economic policies of the past, which have led to persistent inflation, and emphasized that the government has very few tools to quickly correct the situation. He mentioned that assistance for vulnerable categories will lead to an increase in public debt, which will further complicate state financing. Mitroi concluded that Romania needs to reform its governmental structure to face current and future economic challenges, warning that the state is lagging behind the realities of modern economics.
