Adrian Câciu, PSD deputy and former Minister of Finance, criticized on Tuesday the way the country is being managed, stating that Romania risks losing 7.9 billion euros in European funds this year.
He emphasized that the budget deficit in the first nine months is alarming, given that net primary expenditures have increased by over 4% compared to the previous year, while tax revenues, especially from VAT and excises, have recorded disappointing results.
Câciu pointed out that the largest deviation is observed in the interest chapter, where approximately 10 billion lei have been unnecessarily spent on their early payment.
Additionally, he criticized investments, which have only achieved 55% of the annual program, due to delays in paying invoices, warning that this situation could lead to economic stagnation.
Câciu concluded that the current government is responsible for significant losses of European funds, emphasizing that the current management approach is inefficient.
