An administrator from Iași has been sent to trial for embezzlement and false declarations, defrauding the state of 3.1 million lei through false reimbursements.

The Prosecutor's Office next to the Iași Tribunal has completed the indictment against a company administrator, accused of fraud with particularly serious consequences and false declarations, having 108 material acts. Between January 2015 and January 2024, he submitted 108 false reimbursements monthly to the Ministry of Transport, presenting as real coupon-talon whose case numbers were in status of death, not found, or erroneous.

These coupons were not eligible for reimbursement, and the administrator claimed to have provided transport services for pensioners, causing a damage of 3,185,211.50 lei to the state budget. The investigations were carried out as part of operation 'Jupiter', including searches and precautionary measures. The indictment has been sent to the Iași Tribunal for resolution.
