A student from Buzău, qualified for the WorldSkills-Shanghai global skills competition.

Adrian Leață, an 18-year-old student from the 'Dimitrie Filipescu' Technological High School in Buzău, will represent Romania at WorldSkills-Shanghai, the largest international competition for technical skills and vocational training, in the welding qualification.

The competition will take place between September 22-27, 2023. Adrian was selected due to his remarkable skills in the field, inspired by his father, who worked with the welding machine. The high school is the only one in Romania that offers this qualification, and Adrian benefits from support from local companies for his practical and language training. He is training intensively, dedicating 4-5 hours a day to perfecting his welding technique, considering that he will compete with participants from all over the world.

The school's director, Lucica Stănculeanu, emphasizes the importance of this participation, which reflects Romania's commitment to vocational education. Adrian also wishes to continue in this profession, with plans to open a company in the future. The WorldSkills competition brings together young people from 73 countries, promoting excellence in vocational training.
