On the night from Friday to Saturday, a drone fell in Galați, Romania, following a Russian airstrike on Ukraine, according to the Ministry of National Defense (MApN). The incident was reported by residents of Galați, who signaled the fall of an aerial object in the Bariera Traian area. MApN condemned the actions of the Russian Federation, considering them irresponsible and a provocation to regional security. Following the attack, Russian forces deployed drones near the border with Romania, and Romanian radars detected them in the Reni area, Ukraine.
In response, two Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft were mobilized to monitor the situation. Although no casualties were reported, an annex of a household and a power pole were affected. MApN emphasized Romania's commitment to national security and collaboration with NATO partners for the defense of airspace.
