A convict sentenced to 11 years and 4 months for rape escaped from Craiova Penitentiary.

A prisoner, Popescu Costinel Tiberiu, aged 37, escaped from Craiova Penitentiary while he was at a work site on Corneliu Coposu Street.

The man, sentenced to 11 years and 4 months for rape, left in an unknown direction and has not been found.

The Dolj County Police Inspectorate was notified of the incident, and the police have started the search.

The inmate is 1.65 m tall, has an athletic build, is bald, has brown eyes, and a long beard.

At the time of the escape, he was wearing a black tracksuit and a cap.

The authorities are appealing to citizens to provide information about him by contacting emergency number 112 or the nearest police unit.
