A cat meowing on the subway tracks in Bucharest, rescued by volunteers

A stray cat that wandered for several days on the subway tracks in Bucharest sparked strong reactions on social media and mobilized the community to help it.

The cat was spotted on the tracks in the western part of the Capital, and Metrorex employees, together with representatives of animal protection associations, tried several times to capture it, without success. On the night from Wednesday to Thursday, members of the Sache Association, with the support of Metrorex employees, finally managed to recover the cat, which is now under the care of veterinarians.

The association announced on Facebook that the cat is safe and thanked everyone who got involved in its rescue. Metrorex confirmed that the intervention was possible due to collaboration with specialized teams, emphasizing the importance of the community in such situations.

The cat was found in the area of the Politehnica station, and the rescue efforts lasted three days.
