The images of the incident, shared on social media, show how the man threw food to the bear, ignoring warnings from the authorities. A witness tried to scare the animal by clapping his hands, but the bear charged towards the car. Witnesses honked and waved to drive the animal away, allowing the Bulgarian to retreat. The victim called for help at the gendarmerie post at the Vidraru dam and was transported to the hospital, where doctors assessed the injury as serious, with the possibility of surgery.
