The interim Minister of Environment, Diana Buzoianu, announced that, in the Government meeting on Monday, 32 million lei were allocated from the Reserve Fund for financing alternative water sources in Prahova County.

This decision comes as a result of the incident last year, when over 107,000 people from 14 localities were left without drinking water for two weeks due to increased turbidity of the lake. Buzoianu emphasized that the solution was proposed by an inter-ministerial committee, in collaboration with the Prahova County Council and the Prefecture. She thanked the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Development, and the Ministry of Finance for their support, highlighting that these funds represent a real concern for local communities.

The incident last year generated a national scandal, and the current measures are intended to prevent the recurrence of such a situation.
