The interim Minister of Environment, Diana Buzoianu, visited the coast on Friday, where she announced that 23 terraces were identified with legal irregularities, a significant decrease compared to previous years, when there were over 100 such cases.
Buzoianu emphasized that operators are now more attentive to complying with the legislation, and inspections have increased. The 23 terraces, some of which are located in Mamaia, have been notified for removal, and in case of non-compliance within 5 days, sanctions will be applied, including the termination of beach rental contracts. Additionally, the minister announced a pilot project for planting forest belts on the beaches of Romania, which could start in the fall, with the aim of improving the environment.
Buzoianu mentioned that the ministry will support local authorities in obtaining the necessary permits for the implementation of this project.
