A 21-year-old man was placed in preventive custody in Iași, accused of trafficking in low and high-risk drugs. According to DIICOT, in February 2026, he used the 'dead drop' method to place packages with cannabis and cocaine in various locations around the city, selling them through an online messaging application. He was caught in the act near CUG 2 lake, having cannabis prepared for sale on him. Following a search of his rented home, authorities discovered over 3.1 kilograms of cannabis and approximately 50 grams of cocaine. The judge ordered the preventive arrest of the young man for 30 days, and the actions were coordinated with the Iași Organized Crime Fighting Brigade.
