"Zootopia 2" has become a new success for Walt Disney Animation Studios, surpassing 1.46 billion dollars in worldwide box office earnings, thus setting a new record previously held by "Frozen 2". The film reached the one billion dollar mark just 17 days after its release, a record for films rated for all ages. Its performance in China, where it earned over 502 million dollars, is remarkable, considering the Chinese market's reluctance towards Hollywood productions. The opening of a "Zootopia" themed area in Disneyland Shanghai has contributed to the franchise's popularity.
Directed by Jared Bush and Byron Howard, the film brings back Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde, who investigate an unknown part of Zootopia's history.
