Virgil Andriescu passed away on November 20, at the age of 89, leaving behind an impressive career in theater and film. Born on April 26, 1936, in Botoșani, he graduated from the Institute of Theater and Cinematographic Arts in 1963 and made his debut at the Youth Theater in Piatra Neamț. He performed at the Drama Theater in Constanța between 1965 and 2000, also having a period at the Giulești Theater. He was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Gopo Awards in 2020 and accumulated over 30 roles in films, including in famous productions. He also wrote memoirs, and his last book will be published posthumously. Andriescu was recognized as an Honorary Citizen of Constanța County in 2020. Those who wish to say their goodbyes can visit the Blue House next to the Central Cemetery, where his body is laid to rest.
