Radu F. Alexandru, a renowned playwright and senator, has passed away, leaving behind an impressive legacy in the field of Romanian theater and cinema. Born in 1943 in Bucharest, Alexandru had a diverse academic journey, studying mathematics, philosophy, and theater directing, later obtaining a doctorate from the National University of Theater and Cinematography. He was active in politics, serving as a senator in three legislatures, representing the PD, PDL, and PNL parties.

Among his awards are the UNITER Award for Best Play of the Year and the 'Ion Luca Caragiale' Award from the Romanian Academy. Radu F. Alexandru wrote famous plays such as "Nothing about Hamlet" and "A Story about My Father." The National Theater of Bucharest emphasized his impact on Romanian culture, stating that with his passing, Romania loses an exceptional personality. The funeral will take place on December 29 at the Jewish Cemetery on Giurgiului Road.
