The feature film 'FJORD', the latest production by director Cristian Mungiu, had remarkable success before its official release, attracting 43,440 spectators at the national premiere on June 13, held on 315 screens in 96 cinemas across 53 cities in Romania. The interest in the film was evident through rapid bookings, with many screenings selling out. In Bucharest, nearly 16,000 film enthusiasts attended the screening, including in art cinemas. The film's success comes after Mungiu won his second Palme d'Or. The director announced plans for special screenings in communities in Romania and abroad, aiming to reach as many viewers as possible, including in locations without functional cinemas. Mungiu emphasized the importance of dialogue and debate around the film.
