Eurovision revises the regulations: Countries affected by armed conflicts will not be able to host the contest

The Eurovision organizers have announced important changes to the competition's regulations, stating that winning countries will not be able to host the event if their security or stability is affected by armed conflicts or delicate geopolitical situations.

This decision comes in the wake of this year's edition, won by Bulgaria, marked by the boycott of five countries due to Israel's participation, criticized for its actions in Gaza.

The new rules specifically target Israel, but also Ukraine, which is at war with Russia.

Additionally, organizers will be able to order security assessments for the winning regions.

Other changes include raising the minimum age of participation from 16 to 18 years and restrictions on the use of backing tracks.

The 2027 contest will take place in Bulgaria.
