Dolly Parton’s manager withdrew on Thursday the civil lawsuit filed against the singer’s nephew, Bryan Seaver, amid a conflict over the singer’s fortune and business interests. The withdrawal of the complaint also led to the cancellation of the temporary restraining order issued against Seaver by a Nashville court.
The complaint was filed in September by Danny Nozell, Dolly Parton’s manager. Court documents accused Bryan Seaver of allegedly threatening to take control of the singer’s financial empire, which includes the Dollywood theme park, a hotel and a museum in development.
Seaver was responsible for the security of Dolly Parton’s properties for several years, but was abruptly fired. According to reports cited by the American press, he allegedly sent messages considered threatening, including one in which he said he would become his family’s “vengeful arm.”
Dolly Parton built her fortune through her music career and investments in the entertainment industry. Dollywood, located in Tennessee, receives nearly four million visitors annually. Forbes estimates the singer’s fortune at approximately $450 million.
