Celine Dion returns to the stage with 26 concerts in Paris, after six years

Celine Dion, one of the best-selling artists of all time, is returning to the stage with a series of 26 concerts scheduled over the next eight months at an arena in Nanterre, a suburb of Paris. The events were announced as she turned 58 and have attracted fans from around the world.

The artist arrived in France on August 28 for two weeks of preparations. Admirers waited for hours outside the hotel, singing famous songs such as “It's All Coming Back to Me Now” and “Because You Loved Me.” Paris prepared for her return by decorating a subway station and organizing dedicated events.

Dion put her career on hold after announcing in 2022 that she was suffering from stiff-person syndrome, a rare autoimmune neurological disease that causes muscle stiffness and spasms. She made a memorable appearance at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games.

The artist was also scheduled to perform in Romania in 2020, but the tour was postponed and then canceled because of the pandemic and her health problems. The past decade was also marked by the deaths of her husband, brother, and mother.
