Ian Watkins, the former lead singer of the band Lostprophets, was killed in prison after a brutal attack by two inmates. Convicted in 2013 for serious offenses, including attempted rape of a baby, Watkins was serving a 29-year sentence. The incident took place at Wakefield prison, where violence has significantly increased, according to a recent report. Watkins was previously attacked in 2023 but survived. The judge described his actions as extremely degrading, and his appeal for a reduced sentence was denied.
