Rapper Ian was placed under judicial supervision for 60 days after he was filmed urinating on the stage at the Arenele Romane in Bucharest, in front of the audience. The measure was ordered after the artist had been detained for 24 hours and investigated for outrage against public decency.
Judicial supervision is a preventive measure that serves as an alternative to pretrial detention or house arrest. Ian will be investigated while at liberty, but he must comply with several obligations established by the authorities. These include appearing before the criminal investigation body or the court whenever summoned and reporting to the designated police station according to the supervision schedule.
Officers from Precinct 14 acted ex officio after the images appeared online. The artist was identified and invited for questioning, and was subsequently detained. The investigation is being conducted under the supervision of the prosecutor from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Sector 4 District Court, in order to establish all the circumstances and order the appropriate legal measures. The evidence is being analyzed with respect for procedural rights and guarantees.
